OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck2000 (70X02AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, as per title, I would like to set the manual curve to the power mode Eco because the fan is spinning up too loud in idle when Eco (minimum is always 2000 RPM whic is annoying as it is not needed considering the CPU and GPU temps below 45 degrees).

Could you let me know how to unlock this feature? thanks

Hi @ekopay,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

OMEN gaming laptop settings might vary depending on the model and the software it uses. However, I can provide you with general guidance on how you might be able to adjust fan curves or power settings on a gaming laptop.

OMEN Command Center:

  • Many gaming laptops from HP, including the OMEN series, have a software application called OMEN Command Center.
  • Open the Command Center and look for options related to performance, power, or fan control.
  • Check if there is an option to create a custom fan curve or adjust power settings for different performance modes.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Some laptops allow you to adjust fan curves and power settings in the BIOS or UEFI settings.
  • Restart your laptop and press the required key (often Del, F2, or Esc) to enter the BIOS/UEFI during the boot process.
  • Navigate through the settings and look for options related to power management or fan control.

Update OMEN Command Center or Drivers:

  • Make sure your OMEN Command Center and drivers are up-to-date. HP often releases updates that include new features or optimizations.

Remember that altering fan curves and power settings may impact the thermal performance and longevity of your laptop. Ensure that you understand the potential consequences and proceed with caution.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

OMEN 17 Gaming Laptop 17-ck2002na

1- there is no power management/fan control option on the BIOS/UEFI
2- The Omen Gaming Hub says that 'Therma control is not available on ECO mode'

Can this option be unlocked?
