Omen by HP laptop 15-dh0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I changed the colour of my keyboard backlighting about a month ago with no problems, came to change it again and the Omen Command Center refused to open. I tried repairing it but that made no difference.

Tried reinstalling it from the Microsoft store, but when I click Install/Open nothing happens. When I click "Install on my devices", it gives me the choice of machine to install it on, it says "We're attempting to install on your selected device(s)" but nothing happens.

I've tried reinstalling using both Chrome and Edge - both produce the same issue.

I've read the forums, and it looks like lots of other people are having this same problem. No, it's not a crucial issue that's stopping me from working, but given that the laptop cost me £1800 in January, it'd be nice if it actually worked as it's supposed to!

Any suggestions on how to get the OCC to reinstall would be gratefully received.

Hi, please try to use attached tool to uninstall your OMEN Command Center, and do Windows update to make it update to date, and then restart your PC. Go to Microsoft Store to install OMEN Command Center again.

Great! it worked perfectly!!!! The guys from hp support were almost forcing me to do a full restore but this saved me from losing everything! Extreamly helpfull!

Nope, does exactly the same thing.

I downloaded the tool, extracted it, ran it. It appeared to do something, automatically shut down my laptop and restarted it.

Then I did Windows update, which as usual took ages and restarted the laptop several times.

Then I went to the Microsoft Store and tried to install the OCC again, but exactly the same thing happens as before - it says "Trying to install" but actually does nothing.

Why is all this stuff so complicated these days? All I want to do is download a utility program to change the lighting colour on my keyboard. Or, indeed, to change it manually, if such a thing were possible.

If you cannot install from Microsoft Store, you can try to click the top right corner three dots " *** " to do Download and Updates, see if you can find the OMEN Command Center and install it.

The three dots as in When I click "Install on my devices", which I mentioned in my original query? Doesn't work.
