Okay, So i have a laptop that has a thunderbolt 3 port and all the latest drivers for my machine. However in device manager there is no evidence of a thunderbolt controller or thunderbolt driver? When I launch the thunderbolt software my thunderbolt port does not show in attached ports nor does in the about section of the software under the thunderbolt software portion. When I plug a usb-c connection in there is a physical connection in which is provided through it, however there is no pop up or notification to indicate that a usb-c connection has been made.

Do you have any Thunderbolt device ? Please plug in and you can see it otherwise you can't see it in Device Manager.

Or you have to turn on View Hidden System Device to see it.

Regards.

I have plugged the thunderbolt device in and the laptop makes the noise to indicate that a connection has been made. The device can be seen in 'devices and printers' in the control panel. I cannot however see it in the device manager even when turning on 'view hidden system devices'. There is no clear driver which labels itself as a thunderbolt or usb-c port. I can attach screenshots of my device manage if that would help.
