Notebook HP Omen Gaming 15-dc0008nm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I allready asked for help on forum, connected to HP Support, they even suggested me that laptop needs to go to be changed (I know that is not needed).

Here is situation:

1. I have paid (physical copy) of windows 10 PRO (can not upgrade from home version to pro without format)

2. HP Omen Laptops are preinstalled with win10 Home (at least in my market) and considerbly more expencive.

3. Was logical idea to invest that diference to chose model with "stronger" GPU

I am not novice on installing OS on Laptops from win98SE, so I prepared everything

went to HP support site

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/omen-by-hp-15-dc0000-laptop-pc/20329817/model/23116...

Downloaded ALL drivers and related software and transver them on USB drive.

Instalation of win10 PRO came ot without hickups.

result was just few unrecognised devices.

I compared windows version (build) and run all compatible drivers.

Everything was recognised (multiple reboots).

After everything settled up I conect it to internet, started HP Support Assistant app, registered device, it was corectly recognised and offered me few new updates of drivers.

Everything went fine, few restarts.

Than when that settled down I turned on windows update (it was disabled til this point to not overlap with other app changing the drivers).

At the end I got the last version of windows (v1809) and one reboot after.

Everything looked great BUT than I started to noticed things like :

1. Where is my Bang and Olufsen Equailizer (no it is not right click on sound icon in tray I have standard windows with offer to buy something from windows store) ?

2. Where is my free HP Lounge app (currently in Italy, should be wotking here)?

3. Where is my Inter Rapid Storage tehnology app?

4.  Where is my HP Coolsense?

5. Where is my OMEN Control Center ?

I was able to download Omen Control Center from windows store.

I found from OLD drivers inside folder with isntalation file for Intel Rapid storage and HP Coolsense.

But Bang and Olufsen still nowhere, same as for HP Lounge.

Now I am thinking what did I miss that I do not even know.

Really HP is it so expencive to provide default apps with this Laptop on USB inside the box or at least inside part of the drive?

I attached screenshot of HP software installed on Laptop, so if anyone can compare, thanks.

Your machine came with FreeDOS 1.2

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06064089

After installed Windows 10, you have to install software and drivers yourself. If you wish ALL pre-installed software you have to buy machine with Windows 10 pre-installed.

Given you installed ALL software from its support page

1. B&O should be in HP Audio Swtch as shown

             BandOa.png

2. You can try, íts free anyway.

3. You have to download from Intel and install to your machine,

4. You have to download and install from

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c02638953

5. You have to install OMEN Command Center SDK Package from the link you provided and use the following information to install Omen Command Center

Thank you for the fast reply but

I did all what is there.

Still don't have Bang & Olufsen Equilizer.

It is not there.

I believe Windows owerride with default realtek drivers.

HP Support center is cool with it as it does not offer me any upgrade or change.

I even let the HP support live technician to try.

Or he/she does not know how to do it or it is just something else.

I even tried to remove all drivers installed by Win OS and install the old ones and I got Bang & Olufsen Equilizer till first reboot than windows override it.

I see all over similar thing is happening to some other Omen users (with preinstalled windows).

Yes I choosed machine without windows.

Is there reason why I am wasn't told that in the box there is nothing from default software that is promoted on HP webpage?

Please do a clean install Audio softeware/driver, this should help.

(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

         https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92501-93000/sp92517.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

I tried this first time, and support person and always same result, windows preference is windows signed driver.

After first reboot windows override it. 😞

I do not know how do you got B&O equaliser but seems win10 are overriding it and offer me 2 selection from their windows store.

My guess is I am first one to report it, and probably not the last one.
