@AlexRizea04, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
On your OMEN by HP laptop, accessing the Advanced BIOS settings is usually restricted by HP. However, you can try these methods to see if you can unlock the required options:
Accessing the BIOS Setup Utility
- Turn off your laptop.
- Power it on and immediately start pressing F10 repeatedly until the BIOS opens.
Checking for Power-On Lid Open Option
- Once in the BIOS, look for Advanced, Power Management, or System Configuration sections.
- If there's an option related to "Power On Lid Open", enable it.
Unlocking Advanced BIOS (Limited Success)
HP restricts access to advanced BIOS settings, but you can try:
- Pressing F2 while in the BIOS menu (doesn’t always work).
- Using a BIOS mod, but this can be risky and void the warranty.
Alternative Solution via Windows Settings
If your goal is to power on when the lid is opened, but the BIOS lacks the option, check Windows settings:
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand "Keyboards" or "Mice and other pointing devices".
- Right-click your touchpad or keyboard > Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Enable "Allow this device to wake the computer".
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

@AlexRizea04, hello!
@Max3Aj is away for now, however, I'm @zoey7886 and I'll be happy to help you out!
If your BIOS does not have a direct option to manage the lid close behavior, you can use Windows power management settings to control what happens when you close the lid.
Steps to Configure Lid Behavior in Windows:
Open the Control Panel:
- Press Windows key + R, type control, and press Enter.
Navigate to Power Options:
- Select Hardware and Sound.
- Click on Power Options.
Choose What Closing the Lid Does:
- On the left sidebar, click Choose what closing the lid does.
Adjust the Settings:
- In the dropdown menus for When I close the lid, set the following options for On Battery and Plugged In:
- Do nothing: If you want the laptop to remain on when the lid is closed.
- Sleep, Hibernate, or Shut down according to your preference.
Save Changes:
- Click Save changes to apply the new settings.
Refer this document for more information.
Take care and have a good day.
