This has been a problem for many users and HP couldnt provide solution.

Basically the problem is  that screen goes dim automatically and Windows doesnt allow you adjust brightness

Solution is, using myHP software , adjust display brightness. This will overwrite windows settings

restart computer and its all fixed

Hi @BrooklynDad

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I appreciate you sharing that workaround — it’s definitely helpful for users who want a quick fix. As a support agent, though, I’d offer a counterpoint to set expectations clearly:

While adjusting brightness through myHP software can override Windows settings and resolve the dimming temporarily, it doesn’t always address the root cause. The issue often comes from adaptive brightness or power plan configurations within Windows, or even outdated graphics drivers.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
