I was not happy using OneDrive for my backup and instead chose Google Drive.
I uninstalled OneDrive and installed Google Drive backup & sync which I thought was working successfully, however, something very odd is going on!
Under windows>users/my name>OneDrive>Documents - are still being updated when I make a new document?
Under windows>users/my name>Google Drive>there is no documents folder?
How can this be?
It appears as though OneDrive is still running but I have uninstalled it and I stopped all services?
**** Today, I have uninstalled Google Drive and restored my system prior to any tampering.
I did not sign into my OneDrive account and yet several times I have selected "unlink my pc" BUT OneDrive still fires up automatically and updates files!!!!
Is there any known way of getting around this issue which seems to be by default in command by the HP setup software??

Thank you for your response.
I have disabled onedrive through startup and had already stopped & unlinked onedrive from the pc and even uninstalled it from Apps.
I had done all of this prior to messaging here.
I then installed Google Drive which to a certain degree was working. However, when I looked at the location of Desktop/ Documents it still displays my pc\username\onedrive\
I tried to change the location of this but this didn't work as it created further system errors. Hence, running the restore.

You are welcome.
Admittedly, the solutions offered are those freely available on the 'net.
I do use OneDrive for a few things on a couple of systems.
On those computers where the service is not wanted, it was enough to disable / remove the setup.
You do have a choice where you store documents.
For example, Word allows you to choose the default folder structure.
Word > File > Options > Save
Best check with Microsoft - this is all Microsoft software (Windows, Microsoft Account, Microsoft OneDrive, possibly Microsoft Office).
