Pavilion 14
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've only had my Pavilion 14 for a couple of months.  Today was the first time I wanted to play a DVD but when I opened Cyberlink Media suite there is no PowerDVD and no option I can see to play DVDs, just options to burn them.

Any ideas anyone?  Do I need to pay to download PowerDVD (which doesn't seem right on a new machine)?

Thanks

Sorry that didn't work either.

I don't understand it since that very file is on your notebook's support page.

I guess you will have to install of of those free DVD playing programs such as VLC.

https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

One other thing...I don't see from the product specs page for your model that it comes with a DVD drive.

So unless the specs are incorrect, you can't use the HP Cyberlink software with an external DVD drive.

@Max732

To better help you, we would need the exact model number or product number of your laptop/desktop???

Hi, @Max732

I use this version for W10...Hopefully it will work on your model too.

Downloaded this but it says it doesn't support movie playback and I need to upgrade.  Really thought that I'd have this feature on a new laptop.

Thanks anyway

You're very welcome.

That is interesting because I have that program installed on a few of my HP notebooks and desktop PC's running W10 and they play DVD's just fine with PowerDVD12.

I'll see if I can find a newer version for you...

Try this one...

14.0.6.7428 Rev.F    Mar 25, 2017

The product info you provided doesn't help identify your notebook's model number.

Use this guide for how to find the product number/model number of your PC.

Hi:

The last version of the software I posted is on your notebook's support page, so hopefully that will work for you...

Sadly that didn't work either - it said the software could only be installed on an authorised machine.

Thanks for trying
