I've seen solutions involving disabling USB boot , but cannot find that option in the boot menu

 

any ideas

I have a similar problem with my laptop -- as it tried to boot from any drive or bootable device connected via USB.  Sorry, but the only workaround for this is to disconnect the device before you reboot.

Found a solution disabled secure boot changed the legacy order and the problem was solved, not saying it will work for every WD external but it did for the my book 6 TB
