I was given this notebook and I am trying to get it updated to the most recent/current bios version so that I can either fully patch Windows 10 or upgrade to Windows 11 on it.  I plug in the Product Number N5R26UA and the website states there are no software or drivers available for this product.  Serial Number doesn't find the product so I'm having to use the product info.

It's on version F.10 which is very old.  I've attempted to download another Notebook 15 bios version and get it updated to F.56, however it just hangs and never starts to update the bios.  I'm tried multiple usb sticks formatted fat32 to no success.  If you could provide me with the proper service pack number and a link I would great appreciate  it.

@boardwalkjoe,

Apparently, your model reached end of support life, and HP no longer provides drivers download support.

The newest BIOS file for 15-ab1xx models I can find is v. F.54 (sp97106).

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp97001-97500/sp97106.exe

Readme file for F.54:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp97001-97500/sp97106.html

If you can still boot into Windows, just download and run the F.54 file as administrator and follow the on-screen instructions to update to F.54.

If you can't run Windows, you need to create a BIOS recovery usb drive and use the key press combination method to boot into BIOS recovery system to update the BIOS from the usb drive. Click the link below and go to 'Recover the BIOS using the USB recovery drive' for the instructions.
