My Support Assistant was working just fine.  I had a yellow exclamation point telling me that I needed to calibrate my battery. No big deal.  I followed the directions to the "T" and did exactly what I was supposed to.  At the end of it, the Support Assistant was upgraded. Now it doesn't work. Zip. Zero. Nada.  It told me to uninstall it.  I did.  Now it won't so much as open it and download the new one.  I did that but then it said that a newer one is already on my computer.  How can that be when I uninstalled it (yes, it said it was uninstalled - I didn't just put it in the trash), and their is no hint of it in the list of apps?  The only hint of it is the icon in the lower right-hand corner of my screen.  I am obviously not to tech savvy which is why I follow directions like crazy.  I don't want to screw things up, but that is exactly what I have done.  Finding help on this website is beyond impossible.  Anybody got any ways to help me?

Hi,

Try uninstalling from the control panel programs and features

Press the Winkey and R

type control and press enter

Now click on uninstall a program and you should see a list with all installed software. Uninstall HP support assistant by double-clicking on it.

Reinstall

Hope it helps,

I appreciate your effort but unfortunately HP Support Assistant was not on that list.  That is what is sooooo nerve wracking about this entire fiasco. I am ready to pull my hair out. When I download that new one, it tells me there is another, new one already installed but I cannot find a trace of it anywhere except for the icon.
