Hello LaurenTurn435,

Thank you for posting your concern,

If the built-in camera on your HP Victus is not working or being detected, here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Privacy Settings:

    • Go to System Preferences on your Mac.
    • Select Security & Privacy and then choose Privacy.
    • Ensure that the camera is allowed in the relevant apps.
  2. Update Software:

    • Ensure that macOS and any specific camera software are updated to their latest versions. Software updates can fix known bugs and compatibility issues.
  3. Check Camera Permissions:

    • Make sure that applications you are using have permission to access the camera. You can check and modify these permissions in the Privacy section under Security & Privacy.
  4. Application Restrictions:

    • Disable any software or security restrictions that might be blocking the camera from functioning.
  5. Restart Your MacBook:

    • Sometimes a simple restart can fix issues with hardware not being detected properly.
  6. Check for Conflicting Apps:

    • Close any apps that might be using the camera in the background. Only one application can use the camera at a time.
  7. Reset SMC and NVRAM:

    • Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) and NVRAM can sometimes resolve issues related to hardware not being detected.
  8. Hardware Check:

    • Ensure that there is no physical obstruction covering the camera lens.
  9. Contact HP Support:

    • If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware fault. Reach out to HP Support for further assistance or repair.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve most issues with your built-in camera. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to have the hardware inspected by a professiona

Have you recently update your windows ? If yes rolling back the driver. If not, uninstall the device in device manager and restart your computer, afterr that windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
