Appearently the recovery manager stopped working on 8/23 but i didn't notice.  When I wanted to look at the backup i opened the recovery manager and began receiving a series of boxes all with the same message about not being able to  find WMI.  I closed it and tried again but this time the program would not open.

I downloaded what i think it the correct program to reinstall it (SP74123),  When I run the install it says everything installed correctly but there is no recovery manager program.

Now what?  I have a 12g SS drive with all the files and no way to get at them.

Thanks for your help.

I see from your post you have a concern regarding HP REcovery manager. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What exactly seems to be an issue with HP Recovery manager?

Have you tried to backup your file using HP recovery manager and having trouble restoring them.

The only way to reinstall the HP recovery partition and image is by use of the HP Recovery flash drive created by the factory or by the HP Recovery media creator utility. If you have created one soon after purchase of this PC, In case if you haven't created one, then the only option would be to order a set of recovery media.

I will share you a private message with details. Please watch your inbox for more information.

Swell.  I have ordered the backup media.  I have deleted all traces of the recovery manager and will reformat the SSD.

Thanks

Thank you, but there is nothing wrong with the operating or any other software, only the recovery manager is broken.  I will just put the media aside until such time as it might be needed.
