HP Recommended

Hello,
I have an HP Notebook 15-dw1002nk. The device is currently stuck in a restart loop with a black screen and no display output.
I attempted a BIOS recovery using a USB flash drive and the Windows + B key combination, but I was unable to extract the .fd BIOS file from the official executable (sp155621.exe) because I only have access to an Android phone and no Windows PC.
Could someone kindly provide the correct .fd BIOS file (e.g., 08368.fd) extracted from this update, or a compatible version that I can place on a FAT32-formatted USB drive for manual BIOS recovery?
Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi @radouane26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Notebook 15-dw1002nk is stuck in a restart loop with a black screen, and you're trying to perform a BIOS recovery using a USB flash drive. Since you don't have access to a Windows PC to extract the necessary .fd BIOS file from the official executable, let's explore alternative methods to obtain the required file.

1. Use an Android Device to Extract the .fd File

While it's challenging to extract the .fd BIOS file directly on an Android device, you can try the following steps:

Download the BIOS Update File:

On your Android device, visit the HP Support website and search for your laptop model: HP Notebook 15-dw1002nk.

Download the latest BIOS update file (e.g., sp155621.exe).

Extract the .fd File:

Use an Android app like RAR or ZArchiver to extract the contents of the .exe file. These apps can handle .exe files and might allow you to access the .fd file within.

If the .exe file contains the .fd file, extract it to a folder on your device.

Transfer the .fd File to a USB Drive:

Copy the extracted .fd file to a USB flash drive formatted with FAT32.

Ensure the USB drive is empty before copying the file.

Perform BIOS Recovery:

Insert the USB flash drive into your laptop.

Power off the laptop.

Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press the Power button for 2–3 seconds while still holding the other keys.

Release all keys. The BIOS recovery should begin.

I hope this helps.
