Hello,

 

Generally speaking - YES, it should be safe.

 

HP works along with Microsoft to deliver important drivers, BIOS/UEFI/firmware updates to your PC, along with other distribution channels.

 

The process started a while ago for consumer-class devices like yours and will also be part of business class devices
