Hp probook 640 g1

I have a hp probook 640g1 whose sd card reader does not work at software level due to windows 10 update. 

Please help with this issue

If you install W8.1, you will still have to install drivers for whatever devices need them and there will probably be more drivers that need to be installed on W8.1 than on W10.

 

The only difference is that HP will have all of the W8.1 drivers available where in W10 some of them are not.

There is no W10 driver for the SD card reader.

 

You have to use the W8.1 driver.

Should i install windows 8.1 or install the windows 8.1 driver

Most of the drivers are not working like Bluetooth, location, cd driver, etc.

You can install the W8.1 card reader driver on W10.

 

The DVD drive needs software to work on W10 in order to play DVD's.

 

Most of us use the free VLC media player from the Microsoft Store:

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook have?

 

You have to install the W10 Bluetooth driver for the model Wi-Fi adapter your notebook has.
