I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Notebook is experiencing significant performance issues, possibly due to software or hardware problems. Let's troubleshoot this step by step to help you resolve it:
May I know
Do you see a light glowing on the power button next to the charging port?
Do you see an HP logo when you try to turn on the unit and then the screen goes blank or blue screen, If Blue screen Have you observed any error messages?
or when you open any apps and it takes time to load or it will not load at all
Please try the following Troubleshoots steps.
1. Turn off the Unit.
2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
3. Remove any discs from the disc drive.
4. Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.
5. Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.
6. Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
7. Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.
Step 2
Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit
Step3
The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit
Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Shut down your laptop completely.
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold down the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- Reconnect the battery and charger and power it back on.
2. Boot into Safe Mode
This will load your laptop with minimal software, helping us identify if the issue is caused by third-party programs.
- Turn off your laptop and power it back on.
- Immediately press the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options screen (or follow instructions for Windows Recovery if necessary).
- Select Safe Mode using the arrow keys and press Enter.
If it loads successfully in Safe Mode:
- Uninstall any recently added programs or updates that might be causing the problem.
- Run a virus scan using Windows Defender or any antivirus software you have.
3. Run System Diagnostics
Your HP laptop has built-in diagnostics to check for hardware issues.
- Turn off your laptop.
- Press the Power button and repeatedly press Esc until a menu appears.
- Select System Diagnostics or F2.
- Run a Full System Test to check for issues with the hard drive, memory, or other hardware components.
4. Free Up Resources
If diagnostics are clear, your system might just be slow due to background processes:
- Task Manager:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Check the Processes tab for anything using excessive CPU or memory.
- Right-click and end unnecessary processes.
- Disable Startup Programs:
- Go to Task Manager > Startup.
- Disable unnecessary programs.
5. Reset or Repair Windows
If the issue persists:
- Repair Installation:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
- Select Reset this PC, then choose Keep my files.
- Perform a Clean Install: You can reinstall Windows using a bootable USB if all else fails.
