Not sure why but I am trying to connect 2 monitors with my HP USB-C Dock G5 but it will not rcognize it. Is my laptop not compatible? Do I need to upgrade my software? I do have an update pending but wasn't sure what it did. It is the 2024-03 Cumulative update preview for Windows 11 preview version 23H2 for x64-based systems (KB5035942). wHAT SHOULD i DO TO GET THIS DOCKING STATION TO BE RECOGNIZED?

They are NOT compatible, no way to get the dock to work with your machine. The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06617394
It ONLY has 1 hopeless USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
