Hey everyone,

I have updated my Windows 10 to version 1809 from 1803, and immediately notice some issues.

  1. The audio outputs always have a short electric burst before the output is smooth again. Realtek HD audio driver is not updated delibrately, however, as I have noticed the latest version used up a lot of CPU. Is there a way to solve this? I believe the voltage input was suddenly turned up to the speakers, causing the burst before the amplifier stabilises it. Correct me if I am wrong, but if this is the case, this will shorthen the lifespan of my speakers.
  2. Windows update features a failure to install HP's HIDClass 2.1.8.1 driver, which I understood is a wireless button. The update is pushed from Microsoft server and upon checking, this is a driver from HP meant for Windows 1809 or above. Is there anyway to solve this? I know you can hide the update by installing a third-party software - not ideal at all. HP should be more specific to Mircosoft regarding whether this update is applicable to me or not. If applicable, why did it fail to install?
  3. The rotation feature is no longer working. I managed to get it working after forced reset. Guess we can ignore this, but just putting it down for anyone interested.

Will appreciate any advice. Thanks!

@ChunGoh,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you're having issues with the notebook after the recent Windows 10 update. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers.

Have you tried to update the drivers using HP Support Assistant?

In the meantime, let's try these steps one by one.

For the first issue - Let's uninstall the audio drivers from device manager and then reinstall them.

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand sound video and game controllers>then select the sound drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the audio drivers.

Then check the box delete the software for this device.

Now restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and Audio drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

For the 2nd Issue: I would suggest you try this link: Click here

Note: You must unzip all files in .cab file to new folder ...then update the driver in the new folder that you put the unzipped files into. No more win update error either.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,
