HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-w0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had my spectre x360 13-w0XX since late 2016 (i7-7500u model) and I have always had the issue of battery drain while the laptop was shut down (100% to 87% overnight). I did not pay much attention to it as I mostly charged my laptop overnight. Now that I use my laptop more often, it has become a burden. After searching on the forums, many users of the same laptop model reported experiencing the same issue and have "fixed" it using the sphinx fix that HP apparently posted. However, I could not find a link to the patch despite searching through every thread about the topic. (example of forum thread) I was wondering if any HP reps still had access to the sphinx fix or if any users of the forum knew where to find it. Thanks in advance.

Also, for HP reps

  • I have already ran the battery diagnostic tool and have no issues with the battery itself
  • I have installed all updates in HP Support Assistant
  • I have upgraded the BIOS to F.48
  • I have updated all drivers to the latest version
  • I am using the "HP recommended" power plan
  • I have already turned off fast startup

Hi Raj 1788, it seems like I'm suffering the same problem as Yich has described in her post.

My battery looses about 10% power in 12 hours, although it is completely turned off. Can you send me the necessary fix (Sphinx fix) to correct the problem?

Thanks!

I have the exact same issue. Mine is 2 weeks ago and this battery drain has been bugging me till I finally went and saw all the issues that were posted. I tried all the others fixes and heard about the SPHINX fix but couldn't find it.  I'd also like the same info.  Appreciate it..

Yeah I posted on here already once before. Asking for the sphinx fix but never got it. And my reply on this post was somehow removed.

Hello - I have tried all the recommended fixes in this issue regarding Spectre X360 battery drain when turned off.  Have tried everything - BIOS updates, disable Microsoft ACPI battery driver, etc.  All signs indicate that I need this Sphinx fix that has helped other people with the same issue. Can you please provide the link or PM me with the solution?

Hi

I read that there is a fix or a sphinx updates to fix the battery drainage problem. Can someone assist and point me to a link to down load the sphinx update. My HP Spectre Pro x360 G2 Drains battery after charging it to 100% and Leaving it overnight.

Best regards,
