I just received the "new" Support Assistant and cannot find the "about" to determine the version number.  I like the old one better.  So, does anybody know how to find the version number?

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

 

Please share the product number of the laptop to assist you better.

 

Open support assistant at the top right corner you will see a white question mark icon and says About. Click on it to know the version of HP support assistant.

 

Refer this video instruction from HP support to know more information about using HP support assistant. Click Here

 

Also, you can install the previous version (8.6.18.11 Rev.A) of HP support assistant using this link. Click Here

 

The latest version of HP support assistant is 8.7.50.3. If you have issues using the HP support assistant.

 

Update to the latest version of support assistant using this link. Click Here

Thanks, but V 9 does not have the word "about" in the upper right corner.  So, I went back to V 8.
