Ironic indeed! I was called Mac at work, had an Apple Mac and I used to be a firefighter.
Maybe I should have used 'Macnosmokehere' as the TC1100 is not the only thing in this house that emitted smoke when switched on! lol
Thankfully all my smoke detectors pass the weekly test.

My hp probook shutted down unexpectedly. When I checked it, it had this burning plastic smell coming from the battery compartment and the battery itself. I removed the battery and when I used the adapter to power my laptop, it's still working well. However, I'm worried of the battery, I am not able to replace it. Is there any cheap alternative to repair it?
