Hi @SRJ6196

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Troubleshooting Touchpad Issues on HP ENVY x360 with Windows 11

The "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error, particularly in relation to the I2C HID device, can often be attributed to driver issues.

Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve this for your HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 13-bd0000:

Step 1: Update the Touchpad Driver

Visit HP Support:

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
  • Enter your product details (HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-bd0000) and ensure the correct operating system is selected (Windows 11).
  • Download the latest touchpad driver available for your model.

Uninstall Existing Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button.
  • Expand the Human Interface Devices or Mouse and other pointing devices section.
  • Right-click the I2C HID Device and choose Uninstall device. Make sure to check the box Delete the driver software for this device if it's available.

Install the Downloaded Driver:

  • After uninstalling, install the driver you downloaded from HP Support.
  • Restart your laptop after installation.

Step 2: Update Windows

  • Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Sometimes, specific updates may contain important fixes or enhancements.

Step 3: Run Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Windows Troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot.
    • Click on Other troubleshooters.
    • Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. This can sometimes detect issues with hardware components.

Step 4: Check BIOS Settings and Update

  1. BIOS Update:
    • Sometimes updating your BIOS can resolve hardware compatibility issues. Check the BIOS section under your product on the HP Support page for any updates.
    • Ensure that touchpad functionality is enabled in BIOS. Restart your computer, press F10 to enter BIOS Setup, navigate to the device configuration, and make sure touchpad is enabled.

If the problem continues after trying these solutions, it might indicate a deeper issue. Contact HP Support Phone support team for further assistance. They can provide more in-depth diagnostics and support options, including potential hardware service if necessary.
