I recently bought a Thunderbolt 3 docking station (OWC TB3 Dock 14 Port SG) and cannot get my laptop to detect it or get it to work. I have tried installing Thunderbolt 3 drivers, utility controls etc. but setup always fails and nothing Thunderbolt related will install on the laptop. The laptop has a USB-C Thunderbolt socket on the side with the lightning bolt symbol so I have assumed it is TB3 compatible. Can anyone please advise on (1) whether my laptop is TB3 compatible; and (2) if it is compatible how do I get it to work correctly.
Many thanks in advance.
Conor

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06055241
It does NOT have Thunderbolt™ 3 port but it is compatible with some of the following docks
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05604470
Looks like the USB-C Gen 5 is the good match. I tested it on my machine which is an HP Envy x360 15-0047nr which has similar USB-C specs and with same 65W charger.
Regards.

Thanks so much Banhien,
Sounds like the USB-C Gen 5 is the best solution.
The link you shared to the list of docks (of which some are compatible) doesn't appear to bring up a list and is rather and FAQ page. Is there a specific section within the page the includes the list you refer to?
Thanks,
Conor
