Dear HP Support,

I am experiencing an issue with my HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1026ne (Product ID: 2R458EA, Serial Number: 8CG1112P9L). After a recent Windows update, both the keyboard and touchpad have stopped working within the Windows environment. However, they still function properly in the BIOS, which suggests that this is likely a driver or software-related issue.

I have attempted basic troubleshooting steps such as:

  • Restarting the device

  • Booting into Safe Mode

  • Checking Device Manager for driver errors

Unfortunately, the issue persists.

I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter, including guidance on driver updates or system recovery options.

It looks like you're dealing with a tricky issue after a Windows update. Since the keyboard and touchpad work in the BIOS, it indeed points to a software or driver conflict within the Windows environment. Here’s a more detailed troubleshooting approach you can take to resolve the issue:

 

Check for Driver Updates

Sometimes, Windows updates can cause driver conflicts. You can try the following:

Device Manager:

Press Win + X and choose Device Manager.

Expand Keyboards and Mice and other pointing devices.

Right-click on your touchpad and keyboard drivers and choose Update driver.

You can also try uninstalling the driver and restarting your laptop. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver after rebooting.

HP Support Assistant:

Download and run the HP Support Assistant to automatically check for driver updates for your device.

HP Website:

Go to the HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1026ne Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support page and manually download the latest drivers for both the keyboard and touchpad.

 

Uninstall the Windows Update

If the issue began after a specific Windows update, you may want to uninstall the update to see if that resolves the problem.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View Update History > Uninstall Updates.
