Solved!

Touchpad enable/disable

15-bs162SA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to be able to disable and enable the touchpad on my laptop simply without having to uninstall the driver.  I've tried everything I could find online but the steps usually end with something that isn't on my computer! Help would be greatly appreciated.

Solved!

Touchpad enable/disable

If you want to turn off your touchpad because you are using a mouse, unfortunately, your model notebook does not have an on/off switch or an enable/disable tap zone as some notebooks do.

The only way that I am aware of to simulate a switch when a mouse is connected is to disable the device in the Device Manager.

In the Device Manager click on Mice and other pointing devices and right click on the  Synaptics or Elan touchpad device and then select disable device in the list that appears.

It is recommended that you perform the method  I have described if you have a wired or wireless/bluetooth connected to your notebook.
