To solve a problem with my mouse constantly jumping at random to the bottom of the screen, I followed online instructions to delete the touchpad and mouse drivers.
On startup, the mouse driver loaded, but not one for the touchpad, which has also disappeared from Device Manager.
The mouse now operates properly, but the Touchpad is unresponsive.
Have followed HP Virtual Support instructions to detect my laptop model and have downloaded and tried to install the recommended Touchpad driver but an error message says the driver is not compatible with my operating system. (i.e. the version of windows that was detected by Virtual Support: Windows 10 Version 21H2).
Have also tried to do a system restore to an earlier Restore Point but that produced an Error Message and did not complete the Restore.
Would prefer to just find and install the appropriate Touchpad driver rather that doing a complete system reinstallation.
