I am trying to rent a loptop and the subscription i set up securely using my capital one debit card verifying the purchase by code and registered to my SCHOOL EMAIL. I got an email, no phone call, just saying it was canceled for suspicious activity. This is absolutely ludicrous since the purchase was secured by my bank with 2FA and my email is at the domain of a nationally accredited school.
Customer service via phone was absolutely unhelpful, even the supervisors had absolutely no information and dismissed me to waiting for a call back after not even updating my case whatsoever in their system. I was promised it was escalated but was outright refused documentation of the conversation by Christopher, the supervisor I spoke with. He also refused to let me talk to his team lead despite asking numerous times.
This whole experience is absolutely nuts! I need this laptop quickly and I do not have time to mess around with waiting for someone to *maybe* call me back to explain why in the world the system decided my purchase was "suspicious" when it was completely verified by my bank.

Unfortunately same thing here. Used a single account to sign up, never used any other account, never used any other card, so it was one signup, one selection of a laptop, and one card from a major US bank. When calling HP, they REFUSED to tell me WHY, stating their policy is not to tell WHY, and now they state that they won't allow renting of a laptop ever again, and I must buy or lease instead.
