hp my book
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just got (2) new my books to back AND to manually copy photos and documents to them.  (Intend to use one for backing up, other for copying and pasting, eventually, to have TWO copies of everything.)  Anyway, initial back up was successful, as was manual copy/paste of 97000 photo files and folders.  Then wanted to copy my C: Documents folder.  Keep getting error message 0x80028CA0, says to search for it and type mismatch.   Can't seem to make that work.  Forgot to note that the My Book is WD.  Also, have since tried to copy/paste a single folder--which works fine.  When I try to do that with the entire "Documents" folder, it starts "preparing" to load but abruptly stops after going through around 100,000 files.

As far as I know, you can't do this the way you want.

Even though you might have created the same account NAME on both PCs, Windows does no use that NAME to grant access to the folders; instead, it uses a hidden complex character string it generated itself when you created the account.

So basically, the YOU on the old PC is a different account, with different access, then the YOU on the new PC -- and Windows will not let you copy stuff, as a result.

You could try copying the files and folders underneath Documents to see if that works.
