Hi @Anonymous246,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The error message: “Boot device not found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk “Hard disk (3F0), which means your HP computer is unable to detect a bootable operating system on the hard drive. This can happen due to several reasons, and I’ll guide you through the steps to fix it.

1. Run System Diagnostics (F2)

  • Press F2 when prompted to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Hard Drive Test.
  • If the test fails, your hard drive may be damaged or disconnected.

2. Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your PC and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Go to System Configuration > Boot Options.
  • Ensure the boot order includes your internal hard drive.
  • If the hard drive is not listed, it may be disconnected or have failed.

3. Reseat or Replace the Hard Drive

If you're comfortable opening your PC:

  • Power off and unplug the device.
  • Open the back panel and reseat the hard drive.
  • If reseating doesn’t help, the drive may need replacement.

4. Reinstall Windows

If the hard drive passes diagnostics but the OS is missing:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
