HP Notebook - 14-cm0038na

I have two 14-cm0038na laptops here which have been bricked by a Firmware (F.70 Rev.A UEFI/BIOS) update from Windows Update.

After installing the latest firmware update, the computer restarts, erases and writes the necessary blocks then restarts once more to a black screen. After this it will power on, but there is no display ever again.
As it is pretty much impossible to prevent Windows Update from installing updates on Windows Home editions, I wanted to make HP support aware of this issue.

To put this in more context, I am a PC tech and the laptops belong to a customer. I was able to copy the firmware from a working motherboard and reprogram the chips on the bricked motherboards, however, Windows Update will always try to update them again.

Note: I have also tried downloading the latest firmware/BIOS update F.70 Rev.A directly from the HP support page for this model and manually updating it that way. It also bricks the machine and the only way to recover is to directly program the chip with a working (older version F.42 is what I had available) BIOS bin file.
