my laptop will not receive 5g internet. Can I. purchase a usb. Wifi adapter to be able to connect to 5g internet?

Yes, you can do that if you want.

 

They make some small size USB wifi adapters that hardly stick out of the USB port.

 

This model is dual band AC + it has Bluetooth.
