Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

Hi, 

I have a HP Laptop - 15-ef0023dx.  Whenever I try to download something (pdf, jpeg, picture, whatever) It tells me "Can not download. virus scan failed"

This is most likely Windows Defender -- as I got so many FALSE malware notifications from it that I went to great length to disable it.

 

Also can be due to using Edge -- either the old one or new one -- as they lock out files to "protect" you!
