I need help with my HP 348 Notebook G4. I am getting an error (Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Failed)), and my Bluetooth has turned off, and is actually hidden in the Device Manager. I can't turn it on. Please help.

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you experience issues where a USB device is not recognized on your HP 348 G4 Notebook PC and you encounter an "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" message in Device Manager, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

  1. Check USB Connection: Ensure that the USB cable is properly connected to both the device and the computer.

  2. Use Different USB Port: Try plugging the USB device into a different USB port on the computer. Ports on the back of the desktop tend to have more power available.

  3. Shorten USB Cable: Use a cable that is less than 2 meters in length to avoid power loss or data transmission issues.

  4. Use External USB Hub: Connect the USB device through an external powered USB hub to ensure sufficient power is supplied.

  5. Update Device Drivers: Go to Device Manager and update the driver for the USB device. You can search automatically for updated driver software.

  6. Disconnect Other USB Devices: Remove any other USB-connected devices to ensure there is enough power for the device in question.

  7. Try a Different USB Cable: Replace the USB cable with a different one to rule out a defective cable.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider checking for updated system drivers or BIOS updates from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
