Each time I have run or the system is scheduled to run the Updates the results are showing the following and I have the latest version of HP Support Assistant on my computer which is running Windows 7 without any other problems. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this or is this something that is occuring due to Windows 7 no longer really getting updates anymore?

I'm the Riddle_Decipher & I'm writing on behalf of my colleague @The_Fossette, as the tech is out for the day, that said, I have reviewed your concern and the entire conversation, did some research and here's what I recommend:
I apologize on behalf of the other agent, as It looks like Microsoft has extended the support for Windows 7 and the same will end on January 14, 2020: Click here for details
That said, please reinstall the HP Support Assistant and check if that works, if the issue persists, create a new user account and check if that work.
Alternatively, you can always update windows using the windows updates under control panel.
Keep us posted,

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I would like to inform you that Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft and you will not receive any update from Microsoft for the operating system and this is the reason why you are getting that error.
Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers!

I am still able to get a daily update from windows for Windows Security Essentials so that is not 100% correct. Plus until maybe a week ago at the maximum the Downloading Messages and Updates Definition was not showing an X when completed and I have never gotten any notice that this would be the case with HP.
