Hi @Oleg__79 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how inconvenient it must be to not have access to your laptop's physical keyboard while in tablet mode on your HP ENVY x360 - 15-aq102ur. Let's explore some solutions to help you regain functionality.
- Have you checked if the keyboard works properly in regular laptop mode, or does it stop working entirely when switching to tablet mode?
- Have you made any recent changes to Windows settings, drivers, or updates that might have affected the keyboard functionality?
- Are you looking to use the physical keyboard specifically for certain tasks in tablet mode, or do you want it enabled permanently?
Let's try these steps.
Disable Tablet Mode Keyboard Lock in Windows Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Tablet > Change additional tablet settings.
- Look for an option like "When I use my device as a tablet", and ensure it is set to "Don't switch to tablet mode" or "Ask before switching."
- This may prevent the physical keyboard from being disabled.
Modify Windows Registry (Advanced Users Only):
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation - Look for a value named "Enable", and set it to 0 to disable automatic switching to tablet mode.
- Restart your laptop and check if the keyboard works.
Check Action Center Settings:
- Press Win + A to open Action Center.
- If Tablet mode is enabled, toggle it off and see if the keyboard starts working in tablet orientation.
Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Keyboards, right-click the internal keyboard, and select Update driver.
- If updating doesn’t work, try uninstalling the driver and restarting your laptop.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
