Microsoft Windows 11

Found 'Utomik - play 1000 games' on my laptop; i did not install it prior, so i am assuming that this is HP bloatware of some sort. I've already done something to get rid of it as much as im able to, but would still like some help if it wasnt enough on my part.

Here's what i did:

1. went to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

2. hovered over 'utomik' shortcut

3. clicked the address mentioned in the hovertext

4. deleted the utomik folder

5. went back and deleted the utomik shortcut

did the same for adobe too, since it kept coming back and was starting to annoy me

hope this helps someone!

Hi @Shreya23-7

Utomik is a third-party trial application that comes preinstalled on some HP consumer laptops as a promotional offer. It is not required for Windows or for your HP system to function.

Deleting the shortcut and folder only removes the icon — it does not fully uninstall the software, which is why it can come back. To remove it completely, please uninstall it properly:

Method 1 (Recommended):

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → Installed apps

  2. Find Utomik

  3. Click Uninstall

  4. Restart your PC

Method 2 (If needed):

  1. Press Windows + R

  2. Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter

  3. Find Utomik → Right-click → Uninstall

The same applies to Adobe trial software — deleting folders alone will not fully remove it.

Removing these trial apps will not affect Windows, HP drivers, BIOS, or your warranty.
