Hi
I am currently on Linux Mint 22.2 Zara. I just sold auctioned my Notebook and now wanna reset the Notebook to a factory state. With it's most up-to-date drivers on Windows unfortunately I deleted the original HP Recovery Partition.
And the HP Cloud recovery tool does not allow me to download a Windows 11 ISO with the needed media drivers to install Windows 11 64-bit Home/Pro versions.
With my Notebook and product ID. I tried downloading the ones for a similar Victus Notebook onto a USB-Stick but that fails too product id 8C010EA#ABD that one does not allow me to boot into a installation | recovery medium.

I hope with this information you can hopefully help me out or at least point me to the drivers I need to include for a proper Windows 11 installation image or provide me with one internally. Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards

Hi:
The product specs I could find for your notebook indicates that it came with FreeDOS, not Windows from HP, which is why the cloud recovery tool is not supported.
N48770-001 MOTHERBOARD DSC RTX4060 8GB R5 7640HS
Motherboard part numbers that end in -001 have no Windows product key in the BIOS.
The motherboard part number with a Windows product key would have been N48770-601
Support for the cloud recovery tool is only provided for PCs that have a Windows product key in the BIOS.
You can refer to this discussion to see if what this person did to get Windows to install works for your notebook too:
Installing Win 11 on HP Victus 16 with AMD Ryzen 7 CPU - Dri... - HP Support Community - 9379734
You can use the Microsoft media creation tool to make a bootable W11 installation flash drive (2nd option) at the link below:
I hope you have a W11 product key to use or Windows will not activate and you will need to buy a product key.
Make sure you can get Windows to install before buying a product key if you need one.
When installing Windows with no product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option.
If you had W11 on there before, perhaps it will activate since Microsoft may have a record of your PC having previously running W11.
Here is the driver page for your notebook's model series:

That AMD Neural Processing Unit (NPU) Driver is on the above support page.

Hi
I am in the progress right now of using the Media Creation Tool on a seperate PC to create a bootable Windows 11 Installation medium. Before I tried using minstick tool to create a bootable live medium [Win11_25H2_German_x64.iso] I suppose this has to do with the iso itself being stripped of drivers officially from Microsoft? I guess the same would apply to creating a bootable image using dd via cli or balenaEtcher
I just don't quite get why there are no fallback generic default drivers available for network etc. on that specific installation medium.
Kind Regards

Hi:
I don't know why Microsoft has not added updated drivers to the ISO file.
It's the same for Intel platforms too.
All I know is a lot of folks have major issues trying to install Windows on some of the newer AMD platforms.
The parts list indicates your notebook has the Mediatek MT7921 Wi-Fi adapter.
If Windows is asking for a network driver to be installed during the installation process, download the Wi-Fi driver from your notebook's support page and use the free 7-zip file utility to extract the exe file into its driver folder so you can browse to the driver .inf to install the Wi-Fi driver.
