OK this took me two hours to fix. The very first thing I looked up was what was the problem it said that somewhere on my computer there’s a little button that turns it on and off. It was not on my shortcuts, there was no camera picture. It was not on the left or right side. I looked at the top. I put my reading glasses on. You have to take your finger if you’re getting that little white light it means your camera is working. You have to take your finger right above that little white light and fill a ridge You can’t even barely see it and he shove that ridge and the problem solved

Hi @GeekMom03,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

I can imagine how exhausting it must have been to spend two hours hunting for something so small and hidden , you really showed a lot of patience and persistence there. I’m sorry the design made it so tricky to spot; HP laptops often place the physical camera shutter right above the little white indicator light, and it’s designed to be subtle for privacy reasons. Unfortunately, that means it’s easy to miss unless you know exactly where to feel for that tiny ridge.

The good news is that now you know where it is, you won’t have to go through that hassle again.

Thanks for letting us help you out! If you're all set, please mark this post as 'Accepted Solution' so I can do a virtual happy dance!

If you need anything else, I'm all ears (or rather, all text). Just let me know!

Take care and have an amazing day ahead!

Best regards,

Deep_World
