Hi @Danusya,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • The exact HP laptop model and operating system version (Windows 10/11, including build number).
  • If the webcam is listed in Device Manager → Cameras or under Imaging Devices.

In the meantime, here are some steps you can try:

  1. Check Camera Privacy Settings
    • Go to Settings → Privacy → Camera.
    • Ensure “Allow apps to access your camera” is turned On.
  2. Verify in Device Manager
    • Press Win + X → Device Manager.
    • Look for “Camera” or “Imaging Devices.”
    • If the webcam is missing or shows a yellow warning, right-click and choose Scan for hardware changes.
  3. Update/Reinstall Webcam Driver
    • In Device Manager, right-click the webcam → Update driver.
    • If no update is found, uninstall the device and restart the laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
  4. Run HP Support Assistant
    • Open HP Support Assistant and check for driver updates specific to your model.
    • Sometimes the webcam driver is bundled under “HP Universal Camera Driver.”
  5. BIOS/UEFI Check
    • Restart and enter BIOS (usually by pressing F10).
    • Confirm if the webcam is enabled under Advanced → Device Options.
  6. Windows Camera App Reset
  • Go to Settings → Apps → Camera → Advanced options → Reset.
  • This can fix app-level issues.

I hope this helps.
