My Notebook envy uses <SHIFT> <FN> 0

Maybe that will work for you.

/I have a HP Ultrabook and when I am in gmail I am not able to turn off the "overwrite" feature.  I have tried all of the combinations I can think of and gone online.  I do not have an insert key and have tried... print screen and combinations, I tried something with the shift - fn - 0 and that too did not fix the issue.

Please help me with this.  Thank you.

I realize this is an old post, but on my laptop, pressing the fn key plus 0ins (on the number pad) combo didn't work. But pressing Shift and 0ins did. I hope this helps someone else who ends up here because of the stuck on overtype issue! Several of the above posts helped me isolate the solution even though the users posted much later than the OP's question. Thanks, community!
