Hi

If you can return it and get your money back, then please try.

Normally HP place an OS on the HDD, so which Country was it bought in?

The default OS seems to be Windows 10.

#####

First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat

Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).
AND/OR
HOW DO I USE DIAGNOSTICS?

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine if the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows comes pre-installed on new HP computers, but if not on yours, download here:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp93001-93500/sp93457.exe

TEST the hardware.

If in doubt please ask.

Hi

Well Hungary is part of the EU, and as such gives a 2 year warranty from the seller on PC's.

Spoiler

So you could still try that route.

AAAAaaaahhhhhh  4TU62EA

However...........

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-15-da0000-laptop-pc/20395828/model/23142822/document/c060738...

it has 4 GB of RAM and came with FreeDos.

So it may be a lack of MEMORY that is causing the problems.

Freedos would run in 4GB, as would https://lubuntu.net/downloads/

So next is to de-clutter.

Ccleaner and SysInternals to see what is installed, loaded and running.

BitDefender and MalwareBytes - Although these will slow down the  performance.

Then consider a RAM upgrade.

Make one of these (onto an 8GB USB stick)..

Create Windows 10 installation media

To get started, you will first need to have a license to install Windows 10. You can then download and run the media creation tool. For more information on how to use the tool, see the instructions below.

If in doubt pease ask.
