Purchased Oct 2024 for my 89 year old mother. Not able to get Wi-Fi. When went through several steps, the Wi-Fi Driver is no longer on her computer. What do I do?

@SusanFaye, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If the Wi-Fi driver is missing on your HP Notebook 15-ay103dx, you can follow these steps to reinstall it:
Step 1: Use Windows Update
- Connect to a Wired Network: If possible, connect your notebook to the internet using an Ethernet cable.
- Run Windows Update:
- In Windows, search for and open Check for updates.
- Click on Check for updates. This will automatically search and install any missing drivers, including the Wi-Fi driver, if available.
Step 2: Use Device Manager
- Open Device Manager:
- Search for and open Device Manager from the Start menu.
- Look for Network adapters. If the Wi-Fi driver is not listed, it might be under Other devices or it might be marked with a question or exclamation mark if disabled or faulty.
- Install/Update Driver:
- Right-click the network adapter with a missing or faulty driver and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers. This will attempt to find and install the required driver.
Step 3: Download from HP Support
- Visit HP Support:
- Go to the HP Software & Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your notebook model (15-ay103dx) and select the appropriate Windows version.
- Download Driver:
- Locate the Wi-Fi driver under the networking section, download, and install it following the on-screen instructions.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
