@SusanFaye, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If the Wi-Fi driver is missing on your HP Notebook 15-ay103dx, you can follow these steps to reinstall it:

Step 1: Use Windows Update

  1. Connect to a Wired Network: If possible, connect your notebook to the internet using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Run Windows Update:
    • In Windows, search for and open Check for updates.
    • Click on Check for updates. This will automatically search and install any missing drivers, including the Wi-Fi driver, if available.

Step 2: Use Device Manager

  1. Open Device Manager:
    • Search for and open Device Manager from the Start menu.
    • Look for Network adapters. If the Wi-Fi driver is not listed, it might be under Other devices or it might be marked with a question or exclamation mark if disabled or faulty.

Check for updates

  1. Install/Update Driver:
    • Right-click the network adapter with a missing or faulty driver and select Update driver.
    • Choose Search automatically for drivers. This will attempt to find and install the required driver.

Selecting 'Update driver'

Step 3: Download from HP Support

  1. Visit HP Support:
  2. Download Driver:
    • Locate the Wi-Fi driver under the networking section, download, and install it following the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
