Ya i know Linux doesn't like some hardware, most times the spec will tell if its compatible.

Still gonna use it as Win10 until the complete ending of updates.

 

Going to look/buy a new Win11 laptop aswell, need 2 now, because my gf laptop has the same problem, luckely my daughter got 1 from school thats win11 already soo…… Got any promo codes ? 😇😇

These wifi cards are realy hard to come by

does a RTL8822CE work as replacement ?

The Realtek RTL8822CE Wi-Fi card can work as a replacement, but it comes with important caveats—especially if you're planning to run Linux.

 

HP-Supported Replacement for Wi-Fi Card (Windows Only)

If you're replacing the Wi-Fi card in your HP laptop and plan to continue using Windows 10 or Windows 11, the Realtek RTL8822CE is a valid option:

  • Fully supported on Windows with official Realtek drivers.
  • Offers dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.
  • Compatible with most HP laptops that use M.2 Key E 2230 slot.
  • Drivers are available via HP Support or Windows Update.

HP does not officially support Linux operating systems on consumer laptops, and compatibility with Linux-based drivers is not guaranteed.

 

Important Notes for HP Hardware Compatibility

  • Always verify that your laptop’s BIOS does not restrict third-party Wi-Fi cards (some HP models have whitelists).
  • Use only HP-recommended components for guaranteed compatibility and warranty protection.
