Hi @Robbert70

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your Wi-Fi adapter has disappeared from Network Adapters, it could be due to a driver issue, BIOS settings, or hardware failure. Here are steps to get it back:

1. Show Hidden Devices in Device Manager

  • Press Win + X → Select Device Manager.
  • Click View → Enable Show hidden devices.
  • Look under Network Adapters—if your Wi-Fi card appears grayed out, right-click and select Enable.

2. Restart Network Services

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate WLAN AutoConfig → Right-click → Restart.
  • If it's disabled, set Startup type to Automatic.

3. Reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver

  • Open Device Manager → Expand Network Adapters.
  • If the Wi-Fi adapter is missing, go to ActionScan for hardware changes.
  • If not detected, download the latest Wi-Fi drivers from HP's support website here.
  • Install and restart your laptop.

4. Reset BIOS to Default

  • Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Go to Advanced Settings → Restore Defaults.
  • Save changes and exit.

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Shut down your laptop and press F2 while turning it on.
  • Run the Wi-Fi module test to check for hardware issues.

6. Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to SettingsWindows Update → Install any pending updates.
  • Some updates include Wi-Fi driver fixes.

7. Perform Network Reset

  • Open SettingsNetwork & InternetAdvanced Network Settings.
  • Click Network Reset and restart.

Try these steps, and let me know if your adapter reappears! If it remains missing, there may be a hardware issue requiring repair.
