@Egeddy, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Installing Windows 10 from BIOS!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you need to install Windows 10 on another SSD using BIOS, follow these general steps. However, you need to first address the issue regarding the BIOS password prompt:

Resolving the BIOS Password Issue:

  1. Try Default Passwords: Some computers have default BIOS passwords. You can try entering a password based on common defaults (e.g., "admin", "password") if you haven't set a password yourself.
  2. Consult Manual: Refer to your computer's manual as it may contain information about resolving BIOS password issues.
  3. Clear BIOS Password: If you have physical access to the motherboard, you might be able to reset the BIOS password by removing the CMOS battery or using a jumper to reset the BIOS settings. However, this should be done carefully, preferably with professional assistance or guidance from your hardware manual.

Installing Windows 10:

Once the password issue is resolved:

Prepare the Installation USB:

  • Ensure that your USB drive is bootable with Windows 10 installation.
  • Use the Windows Media Creation Tool if necessary to create a bootable USB.

Access BIOS/UEFI Setup:

  • Upon restarting your computer, repeatedly press the key to enter BIOS/UEFI Setup. This is usually a function key like F2, F10, F12, ESC, or DEL, depending on your PC model.

Change Boot Order:

  • In the BIOS/UEFI interface, navigate to the Boot menu.
  • Set the USB drive as the primary boot device.

Save and Exit:

  • Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI setup. The computer should reboot.

Install Windows 10:

  • Your computer should now boot from the USB.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10 on the new SSD.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
