So I already googled this but couldn't find a straight answer. Bought a band new Spectre X360 and during configuration it asked for the face recognition setup - Windows Hello. It worked fine for a while but there was a problem a day after during an update, got it solved through recovery but now Windows Hello keeps telling me I need a PIN...
- I do have a PIN
- I changed PINs and tryed to reset the thing, didn't help.
- I can't/don't know how to reset the process of logging in - that might help if I did, how do I do it?
- I can't desable Windows Hello and just log in through the traditional way of inputing a password.
I saw many people with this problem, is there a solution to it?
Thanks!

Hi! @Kutusov, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand you have enabled windows hello feature on your PC but it keeps asking you to enter the pin.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?
Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.
Try few steps recommended below.
In order to help you better, reply to the following question.
Did you try entering the PIN created before while it asks setup PIN and check what happens?
In addition to selecting a sign-in method, Windows Hello will also set up a PIN as a backup.
In this case, I suggest you re-enroll Windows Hello and change how you want to sign in via Settings.
Go to Start , then select Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options to re-enroll.
Refer the article from Microsoft to know information on Windows Hello.
For battery issues try updating the BIOS and change the power options to balanced and check if it helps.
Also, update the drivers on your PC using HP support assistant and check if it helps.
Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Hi, I'll try to answer the questions one by one in the order you've asked:
- I set it on the first day I got it going through the set up promps it would come up with. There was no new software at this point, just updates. It was working fine at that point. It keept updating things and one the updates in the HP Support Assistant failed (BIOS update if I'm not mistaken), or the HP SUpport Assistent failed itself. Everything kept working fine except the HP updater, it kept trying to install two updates and failing. The system was rolled back to the previous restore point and everything was sorted out execpt for Windows Hello that started telling me I needed to define a PIN. Which I had done and tried to reset multiple times after.
- I can't say for sure if I had made these software changes ta the time but the only thing different was me unsitsalling McAffee antivirus and replacing it with Avira.
- Product Number: X9Y09EA#AB9
-PIN number was created and acepeted before this started to happen. It doesn't ask me for a PIN now, it says I need to define one but that is set in sign in options.
- Ok, at this point I was able to make it work again!! I wasn't sure what you meant by re-enrolling Windows Hello as there is no such option but I removed set face recognition and PIN and created everything again. Working just fine now! Many thanks, that seems to be the solution!!
