I am now running Windows 11 home Build 22000.258 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.258.0, but this issue has carried over from Windows 10.  My power settings for both the battery and plugged in modes put the system into sleep mode after specific times or when I close the lid.  The power indicator LED in the power button never turns off when plugged in, and I now understand that this is due to Windows Smart Sleep being enabled as shown in this powercfg status:

The following sleep states are available on this system:

Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) Network Connected

The following sleep states are not available on this system:

Standby (S1)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.

Standby (S2)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.

Standby (S3)
This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.

Hibernate
Hibernation has not been enabled.

Hybrid Sleep
Standby (S3) is not available.
Hibernation is not available.
The hypervisor does not support this standby state.

Fast Startup
Hibernation is not available.

From the description of Smart Sleep, the system should be in a very low power state until a wake event occurs, but my system is always warm, which would seem to suggest that it is not entering the Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) Network Connected) state.  How can this be accomplished?

Thanks and regards,

Howard
