Hello Together,
I have a Problem where I need a bit help.
My old Computer gave up on me and it was a non Internet Win XP Machine on that I was running a very old Version of CAD 98.
The Computer is beyond repair and I need to get my CAD back and working. As it is completely impossible to have it fixed I am looking to install Windows XP on a Pavilion DV6-3024ax.
It took a bit but I have Windows XP installed, but Now I am missing all the drivers. Is there any place where I can find these drivers?
I have downloaded already from 3 or 4 different sources Drivers that were supposed to be compatible, but not even a single one worked actually.
I might not even need every driver, just the most essential ones like Chipset, Graphicscard and Display, everything else would ne nice but not important. Internet I do not use on that Machine anyways.
Please tell me that there is a place with these drivers.
Kind Regards
Sascha

You're very welcome.
I selected XP for the amd graphics driver but I see from the webpage, that XP was not supported.
Then I checked some HP business notebooks that have XP drivers but they all had different graphics adapters.
I disassembled the driver files and copied and pasted the graphics adapter ID you posted and there was no support.
So, I think we have come to a dead end with this adventure.

Hi:
I can't find any info on that model.
Please let me know some basic info...
AMD or Intel Processor?
Do you remember what graphics it had?
XP SP 2 or 3?
Post the hardware ID for the device you see listed in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller.
That is the wifi adapter.
To find the hardware ID, click on the network controller device in the device manager.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller device window.
Post the string of characters that you see in the window that start with PCI\VEN.

I am on it! That would be soo absolutely awesome if these drivers would work.
I was already thinking about getting VirtualBox on Win7, but I expected the speed would be horrible with it, but at least maybe working. Now I can try the drivers first, thank you very much!
The first Link for Graphics Card would be "Windows 8/8.1 64-bit" ... are you sure? I will give it absolutely a try, but seems weird.
STATUS
Chipset: Went through without a Problem
Graphic: Still downloading and I am still not convinced it will work
Audio: Did not work
Ethernet: Did not Work
Cardreader: Went through without a Problem
Wireless: Gave Error, but it worked, the Laptop is connected to the Internet
Now I have Internet, that I didn't needed, proper Chipset Driver and maybe Cardreader too. For me the only other really important one is now Graphics, everything else I am find with that it doesn't work.

2.sp46918 ,XP driver Here

Thank you very much Paul, you have done already more than I was able to come up with.
I am downloading right now two more Win XP drivers for the Graphics Card to test it. If the Win8 that you suggested and these are not working, it will be Win7 and a Virtual Maschine... bad luck for me then... WinXP compatibility is getting really rare...
Kind regards

Anytime.
The strange thing was that there were XP drivers for some other HD6xxx graphics, but not the HD6550.
If you have W7 Pro, you can run the XP mode on there if your dv6 supports VT.
I had to run a program like that using XP mode, that would not run on W7 x64.
