HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0023nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So i own a hp pavilion  gaming 15 (ec0023nl) , after the first setup i configured windows hello facial recognition and all was working fine. The following day I decided to format it. After i did this windows doesn't let me set up the facial recognition feature anymore(it gives an error saying "no compatible camera was found").(i even tried a bios update, but it still doesn't work). I think this is a driver issue, since now after the formatting there are windows drivers in the webcam, i want to reinstall hp's drivers for the ir cam, but i couldn't find them anywere (not even in the support session for my model). Pleas help me

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you for your answer, i forgot to mention it on the post but i already tried the hp support assistant and it only found me some wirless and Bluetooth drivers. I thinks that since i formatted the pc into windows 2004, and hp doesn't support webcam drivers for this version, the only thing i i can do i to wait. But if tou have some other way to suggest me i will gadly try it.

You mentioned the issue started after you reformatted the Notebook and reinstalled Windows

May I know how did you re-install windows? Did you use the HP Recovery Media? If you did not use the HP Recovery Media, I suggest you reinstall the Notebook using the HP Media

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file inorder to install Windows operating system. Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06162205 to Use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7)

Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961#AbT3 to perform a System Recovery (Windows 10)

Thank you
